What’s New in File System Auditor 1.3

July 16, 2015blogwp_admin

We are thrilled to unveil File System Auditor version 1.3 – the most comprehensive file server change tracking and file access auditing solution that requires zero infrastructure!

File System Auditor 1.3 brings to market exciting new features that will help customers make their file server infrastructure more reliable, manageable and secure.

With File System Auditor 1.3 you will be able to:

1. Monitor file access by privileged accounts

File System Auditor can now show what files, folders and shares on file servers are accessed by privileged accounts such as admin accounts, service accounts and shared accounts. In this way you can easily spot cases of privileged accounts abuse when, for instance, admin accounts are used to steal sensitive file data or destroy files and folders in the first place.

All you need to do is select Active Directory groups whose members you want to track (e.g. Domain Admins) and File System Auditor will tell which file servers members of those groups are accessing, what files and folders they access, from what location and through what applications.

2. Reveal suspicious user activity

File System Auditor helps detect anomalies in day to day user activity. With a simple check box you can easily pinpoint cases when users are accessing documents outside of their normal work hours. Each of those cases might represent a potential security breach, so File System Auditor makes it easy to export all such events into Microsoft Excel and let you perform more detailed analysis.

3. Realize shorter time to value

File System Auditor installs in a minute, requires no infrastructure, deploys no agents and delivers results right after the initial configuration. Thanks to changes made in the version 1.3, with File System Auditor you can start running reports seconds after file servers were added into the configuration.

So, how do you get File System Auditor 1.3?

Customers on active maintenance will receive email from us with a link to download the new product. They can use it with their existing license keys.

New customers are encouraged to give File System Auditor a try by registering for a free trial download.

Cheers,

The SecureHero team.
